MAP's first UK exhibition of powerful photographic works by MAP teaching artist, Karl Schoemaker, uncovering the mystery, pain, anger and stories of forgotten police cells and its prisoners in the historic city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The historic black and white photography is exhibited alongside striking colourful photographs taken by young South African students on disposal film cameras and capturing a modern viewpoint from their perspective. The exhibition is accompanied by poetry, written and developed in response by Lyricl Nkechi in the UK.
